Tool #3

For tool #3 I used Wordle and Spell with Flickr. I think these will both be useful for the students when creating presentations or projects and useful to teachers to gain interest and attention of the students. These could also be used to help with vocabulary and spelling.
I have used Animoto in the past and love it. It is a great way for the students to see themselves and be proud of their accomplishments. I have used Animoto to display pictures from Rodeo Night, Track Meet, Running for the Arts and Field Days.

Tool #2

1. What are your thoughts about blogging an online education community and participating in a PLN? I think this is a great way to share ideas and help each other. Very often the day gets too hectic and we are not always able to get together. This is a great way to "get together" to share ideas and information. It will be very useful to me since there are only 2 of us that teach Health Fitness. This will be a great way to network with other health fitness teachers without interruping anyone's schedules.
2. What point stood out to you from the commentating advice? I was glad that I read the information about teaching the students how to comment. I think this is an important thing that will often be forgotten. We should not assume that the students will have the ability to comment appropriately and effectively. It is important to teach them how to not criticize or attack the blogger personally and also how to comment with meaning and not just one word responses.

This was a lot harder than I thought.........and I thought I was pretty good with technology. Am I really ONLY on tool #1?????

Getting started

Day 1 - After a week in NYC and a few days at Love & Logic training here I am trying to figure this out. Somewhat aggravating but hanging out with Kathy and "plucking along" Let's see how this goes. :<)
